Drove the Irish Loop from St, John's through Trepassy towards Colinet. At 10:30AM ate breakfast at Riverside in Cape Boyles. Rosie had fish and chips with dressing and gravy. John had a bologna breakfast. Stopped at Ferryland which is the sister city of Baltimore. Rosie bought a hand crafted fishing boat, seal souvenirs, and children Newfoundland books.
Farming right outside of St. John's, NL.

Traveling towards Bay Bulls again.

Twisted downhill.
These purple bushes grew all over. They are Just starting to bloom.

We just left LaManche Provincial Park. We looked for the suspension bridge but had to hike to it. In 1966 the community was wiped out from a tidal wave. There were no fatalities. They decided to rebuild at another location.
10:30AM stopped for breakfast at Riverside Restaurant and Lounge. Splurged and had fish and chips with gravy and dressing. Some rate this as the best fish and chips in Newfoundland. Gravy is pretty good on fresh cod.

I ate it ALL.

John had a typical Bologna breakfast.

This was posted in the women's wash room. There are so many abandon villages and houses because of the Cod Moretorium of 1992.

Driving continues to be beautiful along the coast even though it is foggy and chilly.

The wooden box in the foreground is what every residence in Newfoundland has at their driveways entrance for garbag.

Curves, hills, ocean.......

Cemeteries on hillsides.

A loon.

We talked with this lady out for a walk. Her family has been in the village for 400 years.

Remnants of the deceased fishing industry caused by the moritorium.
The Colony of Avolon is where Sir Baltimore settled for one year before he was Sir Baltimore. This is an on going archeological dig. Baltimore, Maryland is Ferryland, NL's sister city.

We didn't go in the Interprtor Center. I took pictures of some displays through the glass. This is some of Sir Baltimore's china and crystal.

Snap shots of the herb garden.

Columbine.

Tiny blooms.

I think this is looking down on the archeological dig.

A view from on high of Ferryland, NL.

Dramatic Ocean scene.

Narrow road way going down from the lighthouse area.

The local women defended this area when the men were off to battle. The French never knew that it was women who kept them from overtaking the harbor.
