Drove through the Terra Nove National Park. Chose not to drive to the Bonavista Peninsula to see the beaches. Made it to St. John's, NL. Drove around a bit. Went to Signal Hill. Drove around some more. Found a campsite at Pippy Park.

It was cold and very windy. I thought that I would get blown off the hill.

Signal Hill.

Looking down on St. John's from Signal Hill.
I was in a snow suit and this man was running in his shorts.
Construction crew was working on the roof.

It was a very tight squeeze.

Planes were flying over head. It was so windy they had to lean into the wind.

A boat coming into harbor was being tossed here and thro in the rough sea.

The gunnery down hill from SignalHill

In the far distance is Cape Spear which we visited 1 or 2 days later. It is the most easterly point in North America. Pictures from that site to follow.
Walking around the hill. Did I Say it was windy??
John in cloud nine.
The fog rolled in and couldn't see the tower.
