Couldn't find a camp ground so ended up staying in the Hotel North parking lot in Goose Bay, NL. Had beer and appetizer in their restaurant. The waitress looks and acts like Dawnell. Quid I Viddy honey brown ale. Cod Augratin. Black Horse lager from St. John's. Rickard's Red an Irish style Ale. Hwy 500E to Churchhill Falls. Bowmen Walking Trail on the Churchill River 120 KM before the falls. ( So we thought at the time. We needed to walk 10-15 more minutes and that is THE Churchill Falls that was to be a highlight of the day. Arrived at 11:30pm because we couldn't find any place to camp. Saw 2 bears. A burnt up minivan on the side of the road. It still had snow under it. The day was a long bumpy and very difficult day. 90% potholes and all gravel. Took pictures of evergreens with black trunks. RV Park, St. Barbe Isle, NL Boarded the ferry to St. Barbe, Newfoundland. $25 for 1.5 hour to cross the Stait of Belle Isle. Rosie bought a little bottle of Screech. 6/20/2015 145193/3151. Cow Head, NL Ate at Earles in Ricky Harbour. Fisherman's Platter included cod, scallops, shrimp served with turnips and carrots. Also had seafood chowder and a large Partridgeberry sundae. $50. Grosmorne RV/Campground in Rocky Barbour, NL Gros Morne National Park. West Brook Pond boat excursion down the fjord. Eating at Earls in Rocky Harbour and driving to the lighthouse as the sun was lowering in the horizon. Started out very foggy. Started to clear mid afternoon. Warm in the sun. 6/21/2015.Fathers Day and the first day of summer. 145237/3195 7:30A Grosmorne RV/Campground in Rocky Barbour, NL Sanger RV Park in Grand Falls, NL. 5:00 P Took side trip on 431 to see the earth's mantel. On the way took many photos of the morning sun on the mountains, trees, and reflecting bodies of water. Visited the tablelands just before Trout River. when Africa and North America collided the rock surface was pushed up and exposed the earth's mantel. When the orange mantel is exposed to water it turns green. At Deer Lake visited the Insectarium. Started driving the Trans Canada Hwy 1. Rosie paddle boarded on the Exploits River next to the campsite. She paddled past a beaver dam. 6/22/2015 145480/3437 Grand Falls, NL Gambol Municipal Park, NL. 8:30PM. $25 Started the day waiting for the Ford Dealership to open so we could get the oil changed. Started waiting at 6:00AM to make sure we were forts in line. Service Dept. didn't open until 8:00AM. Spent $200 and started driving towards Trillingate by noon. Once we got to Crow Head in Twillingate we knew the drive was worth the extra miles and bad roads. (The Road to the Islands.) Cliffs, ocean, and icebergs were stunning. Would have been a nice place for a whale and Iceberg boat tour. Drove the 330 E around the eastern coast. (Road to the Shore) Overcast and cool. 145738/3695.

Chose not to drive to the Bonavista Peninsula to see the beaches. Made it to St. John's, NL. Drove around a bit. Went to Signal Hill. Drove around some more. Found a campsite at Pippy Park. June 24,2015 Pippy Park at St. John, NL. For three nights, Tuesday through Thursday, Pippy Park at St. John, NL. For three nights, Tuesday through Thursday, Driving to Bull Bay for the Gathersll catamaran puffin, whale, and iceberg tour at 2:30pm. Visited the Quidy Vidy Brewery and Village. Then found the Celtic Hearth and munched on deadly nachos topped with fresh mussels, crab, scallops. Next stop was The Shamrock City Pib with live music made for a very lively evening. June 25. Drove to Cape Spear Lighthouse Historical Site. Window shopped downtown St. John's. Rosie tried on some dresses but weren't quite right for the money. Tried on some unique expensive shoes. Thought about buying them but didn't. Parked by the Harbour and drank beer in the van waiting for the Charlie Pride Concert at the Mole One Event center. ( hockey arena) Cold and drizzle
June 26,2015 146059/4017. 8:47A Left Pippy Park at St. John, NL. "Bird Island Resort in St. Bride, NL arrived at 7:30 P. We couldn't the camping in the town. We thought it was at the "" resort"". As we left the area a man chased after us and offered us a free place to park ant the resort and he would get an extension cord for us. It was a lovely night. He told us all about the bird sanctuary so we will drive back 15 km in the morning to visit the Cape St. Mary's Seabird Ecological Reserve. " Drove the Irish Loop from St, John's through Trepassy towards Colinet. At 10:30AM ate breKfast at Riverside in Cape Boyles. Rosie had fish and chips with dressing and gravy. John had a bologna breakfast. Stopped at Ferryland which is the sister city of Baltimore. Rosie bought a hand crafted fishing boat, seal souvenirs, and children Newfoundland books. Will leave at 5:00 PM for Nova Scotia. it got to be a long night during the 15 hour ferry trip without a cabin. We debated if it is worth saving the $200 for a berth. Not sure what the real verdict is. St. Mary Seabird Ecological Reserve. Saw a yellow Thunderbird parked in a driveway just north of Patrick's Cove on Route 100. cool and cloudy, ended warmer and sunny at the ferry terminal. 146331/4288. Noon
6/28/2015 146338/4296. 9:00A North Sydney, Nova Scotia ferry terminal lobster stew at the Clucking Hen somewhere on the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia. Bought day old wheat bread for sandwiches. It was exceptionally good. Whycocomagne, NS. 6:30P Drove the Cabot Trail. Saw a very healthy fox with a whole freshly dead raven in its mouth. One of the mountains was a scary 720 meters. Needed to do laundry. Had only enough Canadian lonies for two loads and the cotton load didn't get dry so I'll need to finish drying them someplace tomorrow Sunny and warmer driving the Cabot trail. Lots of tourists wearing shorts, sundresses, sleeveless tops. Eating their way around the peninsula. By the end of the day it turned cold and rainy 146515/4478

KOA Hilfax West, NS. 3:00 P Driving TCH 104 from Canso Causeway towards Halifax. Saw a complete rainbow over the road and we drove right through it. Amazing. The rainbow was extremely vivid and thick. raining and cold;unseasonably. By the time we got to the camp site the weather was beautiful, sunny and almost hot in the sun. 146716/4674

Five Fishermans restaurant in Halifax ordered Mussels, scallops and Hell's beer from a craft brewery in Liverpool, Wal Mart parking in Truro, NS. 8:30P Lighthouse Trail to Peggy's Cove,Swiss Airline 111 memorial from Sept 2, 1998, Canada Day parade at Halifax. Royal International Nova Scotia Tatoo. This was the most pageantry and royal 4 hours I've ever experienced. The German trick bicycles, Paris police motorcyclists, Paris Police Gymnastic team and dancers were unbelievable with their performances. sunny and warm 146996/4944

July 3. 147236/5193. 6:00A Moncton, NB no food stops. Rosie bought a roast beef dinner at the restaurant by the campsite. Pumpkin Patch Camping in Hermon, Maine Reversing Falls in St. John, NB. Had to back track to get to Campobello Island and waited at customs three times. The day took quite a bit of patience and perseverance. It was worth it. Campobello Island for the Roosevelt Cottages. Celebrated the 500 mile day by eating at Applebee's using a gift card from Christie and Jay. Wal Mart. Erie, PA Spent the morning paddleboarding on the south end of Lake George. Started driving towards home on more local highways like 50 South. Drove through New York on 86 towards Erie, PA. Sunny and quite warm. 148540/6498
